Surely pocket scales weigh less mass than larger scales?
No longer do people use large, cumbersome balances and weights to weigh out mass and product. But you might argue that the very fact these balances could be large and cumbersome meant that the mass and product they weighed could also be large and cumbersome. Sure, there is a limit to what one can weigh using pocket scales but the potential of pocket scales are greatly increased by expansion tray lids. Let me explain more.
In modern times, we’ve gone digital, which has meant that we have been able to make things smaller and smaller including scales – we can now make pocket scales – and consumer taste has followed suit. Today, small is beautiful.
Pocket scales are a bit like ants in that they can often weigh good deal more than their own size. Usually, pocket scales can weigh in increments of 0.01g, 0.1g and up to 500g or 1000g. The reason pocket scales can weigh this much is because of expansion trays, which increase the surface area of pocket scales allowing the user greater freedom and flexibility in terms of amount of mass they can weigh and where they can weigh it.
Here is an example of some pocket scales which are easy to transport and which weigh in increments of 0.1g and up to 500g.
