“Electronic Scales”

“Electronic Scales”
Robert Noyce invented the micro chip and this invention changed the face of electronics forever. Being able to make things on a far smaller scale, as well as create devices to create these small devices at a much faster rate has led to the technologically advanced consumer culture we live in today.

Electronics relates to a whole host of industries but what we’re interested in is weight, which is also relevant to a number of industries including the medical industry, building and construction, banking, jewellery and many, many more.

Having brought the world of weighing and weight up out of the dark ages, all of these industries have enjoyed the ability to becomes quicker in this respect and save money at the same time. In some cases, it also helps to make jobs safer to do. An example of this is “electronic scales” in the building and construction industry.
Pallet trucks need to transport very heavy material. This comes with risk but because each pallet truck has a maximum capacity it can carry, which can be measured electronically, this risk is overturned. This is why “electronic scales” are of upmost importance. With some “electronic scales” a maximum capacity can be set and the “electronic scale” will buzz when that weight is reached.

Diamond Scales

Diamond Scales

The jewellery trade is one of the many business trades in the world that relies on precision and accuracy in terms of weight. Luckily, and thanks to the advent of technology, we are able to weigh things digitally, which means that business are able to save time, and therefore money, and also improve their accuracy, which can also save money.  Some businesses trade in more expensive goods than others, and the banking and jewellery trades are good examples where the monetary stakes are high. Different kinds of digital scales have been designed to support these different trades, for example, digital scales that count money and diamond scales that weigh in carats. Diamond scales that weigh in carats can also be used for other jewels and gems as well as gold and silver and are used exclusively by the jewellery trade.

Diamond scales, however, naturally, come in different shapes and sizes and are used differently in realtion to the needs, size and scale of the jewellers. Some diamond scales, for example, are able to weigh diamonds in their thousands.

Micro chips and [pocket scales]

Micro chips and [pocket scales]

The advent of technology gave birth to many new modern conveniences that we now couldn’t live without. It also gave birth to new habits, preferences and fashions, even if these fashions do have their roots in practical purpose.

Digital scales are one of these devices. It was a natural progression to update the balance weighing scale to ensure precision because weight is such an important way of ordering the world. Whilst technological advancement was going crazy, so did our enthusiasm for our ability to be able to make things smaller and smaller. As soon as the micro chip was invented by Robert Noyce, who also had an egalitarian way of organising companies, we started to enjoy all sorts of dinky devices. And in the world of the digital scale, the birth of [pocket scales] occurred.

And [pocket scales] are great. They are nifty and occasionally tiny little devices that come with weighing platforms so that the amount you can weigh isn’t compromised. You can get keyring [pocket scales], Tanita [pocket scales], [pocket scales] that weigh in 0.01g increments and [pocket scales] that come in all sorts of colours and sizes. Here at Digital Scales 2 U, we are big fans of [pocket scales] in all of their many guises.

The rise of the “digital scale”

The rise of the “digital scale”
We are constantly amazing ourselves with the leaps and bounds made in technology and science. In the last century especially we have created a truly modern world where many of the world’s population have access to clean water and medicine. We have entered space and created new forms of communication at speeds and proximities never imagined and its common for mothers, father, grandmothers and grandfathers to be scared at the fast-moving pace of the generation(s) in front of it.

This unstoppable monster extends to the world of electronics and because weight has been an important way of categorising the world and making sense of things, the archaic scale has been replaced with a “digital scale”. The benefits of using a “digital scale” is almost endless. All of us prefer (most) tasks to take as little time as possible and certainly all work-related tasks such as counting money or weighing amounts of ingredients for recipes. And all of us want things to be right. With a “digital scale” both speed and accuracy can be achieved.

Why are [digital weighing scales] useful?

In the last 100 years science and technology have advanced with more intensity than ever before. Each generation has been amazed at the evolution of the next, and of the technology and science available to them.

In terms of [digital weighing scales], these are a by-product of advances in electronics generally, and given weight is an important way of determining things, this advancement of technology was utilised to create [digital weighing scales] and improve the accuracy of weighing matter and things.

Weight is rather like time in that it measures units and orders our world, and so to have [digital weighing scales] to help do this is very reassuring, especially when they are used in critical situations such as in hospitals or in situations which carry a monetary importance such as trade and banking. But beyond this, everyone wants to save time – we live in a very busy world – and [digital weighing scales] improve everyone’s ability to get things weighed quickly and accurately whatever their situation, whether it be cooking or weighing chemical compounds.
